Star Manufacturing vs Good Guys Trailers: Which Cattle Trailer Wins?
Good Guys Trailers has earned respect in the livestock trailer market. But when you compare them side-by-side with Star Manufacturing, the engineering differences become clear.
Frame Construction
Star Manufacturing builds on a 5/16" thick, 3×5 heavy angle frame — seam welded wherever possible. Components and arch ladders are laser cut, tabbed, and slotted to precision-fit. This approach creates a stronger, more uniform structure than standard fabrication methods.
Hot Dip Galvanized — The Ultimate Corrosion Shield
Star Manufacturing offers full hot dip galvanized finishing. The entire trailer goes into a molten zinc bath at 840°F. The result is a metallurgical bond between zinc and steel that provides both barrier protection and cathodic (sacrificial) protection.
What that means in plain English: even if you scratch it, the surrounding zinc protects the exposed steel. Paint can't do that. Good Guys trailers are offered in painted finishes — good quality paint, but still paint.
