7'6" Extra-Wide Cattle Trailer for Bulls and Big Cattle
Some cattle need more than standard room. Mature bulls, bison, and large-frame show and breeding stock ride better — and safer — in a body wide enough that they aren't rubbing shoulders with the wall on every turn. Star Manufacturing's 7'6" extra-wide cattle trailer is our maximum-width build, designed for commercial bull studs, seedstock operations, and ranchers who regularly haul the biggest animals in the herd. It's built on the same 5/16" seam-welded frame and full hot dip galvanized finish as the rest of our lineup, in lengths from 20' to 40' gooseneck.
Width matters most for animal welfare when you're hauling weight, not just head count. A 2,000+ lb bull that can't shift or brace properly in transit is a bruised, stressed animal by the time it unloads — and a bruised bull at a sale or a breeding operation is money left on the table. The extra 10 inches over standard 6'8" width gives these animals the room to travel the way they should.

Who Needs Extra-Wide
- Bull studs and AI centers: Hauling high-value herd sires that can't afford travel injuries.
- Seedstock and registered breeders: Larger-frame Charolais, Simmental, and composite breeds run bigger than commercial cattle.
- Bison and exotic livestock operators: Non-standard body size and temperament call for maximum available room. See our exotic livestock trailer page for related builds.
- Show and sale operations hauling flagship animals: Presentation and animal condition on arrival matter as much as transport itself.
Built to the Same Standard as Every Star Trailer
Extra width doesn't mean a special one-off frame design — it means the same laser cut, tabbed and slotted, seam-welded construction scaled to a wider body, then fully hot dip galvanized so the trailer holds up to years of hauling heavy animals. Pair it with our heavy-duty feature set or custom build options if your operation needs specific interior dividers or gate placement for bull separation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is 7'6" width street legal for towing?
Yes, 7'6" trailer width is within standard road-legal limits in all states without special permitting, though you should always confirm current regulations for your specific towing route.
Can I get 7'6" width in a bumper pull?
We build extra-wide bodies as gooseneck configurations starting at 20' — the added weight and length that typically comes with extra-wide loads is better matched to gooseneck stability and weight distribution.
Does extra width mean I need a bigger tow vehicle?
Extra-wide bodies do add weight over standard width. Talk to our team about your tow vehicle's rating when spec'ing a 7'6" trailer, especially at longer lengths.
